Sondra Radvanovsky has performed in every major opera house in the world including Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Paris Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Vienna State Opera, Lyric Opera of
Chicago, San Francisco Opera, and numerous others. Her home theatre is the Metropolitan Opera, where she began her training in the late 1990s. After performances in smaller roles there, Radvanovsky came to attention as Luisa in Luisa Miller, and was singled out as a soprano to watch by critics and public alike.

On the concert platform, Radvanovsky has performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Orchestra, both with James Levine. She has sung Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Verdi’s Requiem with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Chicago Symphony with David Zinman, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra with Fabio Luisi, and at the Cincinnati May Festival with James Conlon. In June 2008, Radvanovsky appeared in a joint concert of Verdi scenes and duets with popular baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, which were recorded and will also be released this year. The success of this performance led to Radvanovsky’s first solo CD, Verdi Arias, which was recorded in Russia and released on the Delos label last season to widespread acclaim.

After receiving high praise for her debut performance of the title role in Tosca at Opera Colorado in April 2010, Radvanovsky will revise the role at the Metropolitan Opera and at the Teatro Real
in Madrid in the 2010-11 season. Other highlight performances for the upcoming season include the title role in Aïda at the Canadian Opera Company; Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Lyric Opera of Chicago; Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Metropolitan Opera and at the Arena di Verona; and Elena in I Vespri Siciliani at the Teatro Regio di Torino.

Born just outside of Chicago, Radvanovsky and her husband now make their home near Toronto, Canada.
